The Center for Artificial Indifference

A Whiter Shade of Pale…

Almost daily I see deer on my way to and from work, especially if I go over the hill rather than around the by-pass. This is within a mile of where I live, a couple of miles from my office, and all nestled smack in the middle of Williamson County, TN, one of the boomingest areas in the country. A big hat tip to the public officials who have either mandated or allowed the preservation of a tremendous amount of green space. Farms and forests, flora and fauna, surviving comfortably adjacent to malls, office parks, massive residential developments — this is the way to do it!

Albino Deer

Wow, I never even knew there was such an animal as an albino deer; now that would be something to see. Beautiful! My brother lives in Wisconsin and of course, deer run rampant everywhere there…many times causing terrible car accidents when they jolt out onto the roads; but there’s something so beautiful and serene about seeing these creatures prance about.

Gee, talk about a genetic mutant. Wonder if it has any super powers?

    It needs sunscreen.

I think she’s beautiful - absolutely beautiful. The picture opens up a “Doolittle moment” for me… one of those where talking to animals comes powerfully to mind. I’ll get there. -mg

What a beautiful photo and what beautiful deer! You are right about the need to preserve land for wildlife, flora, and etc. Congratulations, it sounds like someone in Tennessee is on the ball.

Thank you for just taking this deer for what it is: a white deer.

Winston, if I had a twenty for every time I’ve heard a blogger say “It’s a sign” I’d be able to pay off all my own medical bills without insurance.

It’s just a white deer. Enjoy it! is what I say.

And I hope you spot one.
