One Useless Man…
In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.
— John Adams, in the movie 1776
The script was penned without knowledge of the likes of George W. Bush, else there would have been a job and career path listed for “…one useless man…”
Footnotes:
(1) To readers who disagree: Don’t take it personally. You had your field day with Clinton. And we will make sure you have another target for criticism after the next presidential election — provided our country lasts that long and those elections are actually conducted — fairly, this time, please, with no selection being made by Bush’s hand-picked Supreme Court.
(2) To readers who agree: Get your digs in now while you still can. If this out of control Bush abortion administration is allowed to continue feeding our Constitution into the Oval Office shredder, the time will soon come when we are not allowed to speak our minds freely except in support of His Far-Right Reverend Excellency, Commander-in-Chief of the United Christian States of America.

It’s here now but not yet legally– although for revealing either the secret prisons, the torture or some other of the bushie’s little secrets there is talk they might demand some United States senators take lie detector tests. Naturally they are not worried about torture or holding people with no charges, no lawyers, no knowledge they are even guilty of anything, but it’s who told that bothers them. Reminds me of the high school mentality about don’t be a snitch even if the person was doing something illegal. That bunch never grew up and are dragging this country down to their level… or were a lot in this country already there? Depressing times………….
Terrific post Winston….you are wise and witty as usual. I agree with Rain….depressing times….for us all.
Thank you for your ability to target the truth. Bush and his cronies have done more to harm this nation in the past few years than anyone since the Vietnam Era.
Frankly, while looking at all the rest of the havoc played, the South Dakota Anti-Abortion Law really scares the heck out of me. I am afraid of the power of the Christian Right Wing and perhaps just a little paranoid, too.
Falling farther and father down the rabbit hole. Wonder when we’ll hit bottom? And will we know whether to use the “Drink Me” medicine or “Eat Me” pills?
I thought I might read this with a smile on my face but have developed a tear in my eye. It’s sad to think that everyone here really thinks that Bush is the cause of all our woes. Clinton didn’t do anything wrong? Gore didn’t do anything wrong? It must be a wonderful (fantasy) world indeed when these losers were in the white house. I’m not defending Bush by any stretch…but fair is fair…where is the criticism of Clinton/Gore and all they pulled. Politicians by nature are as reeds…they will sway which ever way the wind blows. Only in today’s electronic mediaronic society, the blowing wind from all continues to get hotter and hotter.
It is obvious you are a crying whining Liberal. Carter caused me to become a conservative. Both parties have their problems, but with Liberals wanting to take God out of public life, I have a bigger problem with their ideas. I’m sorry wrong word “ideas” the Liberal Democrats do not have any real Ideas, just complaints.
I guess you prefer the Lying, Do nothing, Terror Friendly give away secrets to China, Clinton Administration!!!
