The Center for Artificial Indifference

The Hole In The Ground…

If you do nothing else meaningful for the rest of the day, spend your next five minutes reading Keith Olbermann’s “tribute” to 9/11 and Bush. This is very powerful stuff! Just a quick sampler to whet your appetite, as Olbermann speaks of the hole in the ground where the World Trade Center towers once stood:

Five years later this space… is still empty.
Five years later there is no Memorial to the dead.
Five years later there is no building rising to show
with proud defiance that we would not have our
America wrung from us, by cowards and criminals.
Five years later this country’s wound is still open.
Five years… later this country’s mass grave is still unmarked.
Five years later… this is still… just a background for a photo-op.
It is beyond shameful.

A hearty head nod to Rain for posting this where I could find it.

i know no one who has any thing to do with filling that awful hole..but i think they should make it a park with places for kids to play… ..where people can come to see something good and green and have good thoughts and make good memories…no buildings, no jobs, nothing but beauty..

That is so cool that you put this here. I wish everyone who saw it as good would link it to their blogs so that as many as possible read it. We are about to be bombarded by propaganda from the right as they try to hold onto power at any price. We have to work as hard at getting the truth out or they will succeed.

Wow, this really touches every fiber of your being…every nerve. If it doesn’t…something’s wrong. Thanks Winston.
