I Wish I Were Me…
Isn’t this fun? Isn’t fun the best thing to have? Don’t you wish you were me? I know I do. — Arthur
It’s hard to believe it has been 25 years since Dudley Moore charmed us with such an endearing performance in Arthur. Equally difficult to think that 14 four years have lapsed since Dudley died in 2002. He gave us many laughs, many poignant moments, and left us feeling good about ourselves. Thank you, Dudley!

Um, I know that time has a habit of sneaking past me faster than I can keep track of it, but surely this isn’t the year 2016.
By the way: if you’re a fan not just of Moore but of British comedy in general, I’ll send along a link to Wikipedia’s article on Beyond the Fringe.

If you don’t know about this comedy troupe, you should.
OMG John B. Are you telling me it is not 2016?
That’s what happens when I try to write too early in the AM before finishing my first gallon of coffee… Edit made. Thanks for the alert eye, John…
I just loved Dudley Moore. Such a natural wit and a man of great talent. It truly hurt to see him go through what he did at the end of his life. Heartbreaking. I miss him. Thanks for this sweet reminder Winston.
I was thinking of Arthur just last night, walking down the sidewalk with a crescent moon overhead - “When you get lost between the moon and New York City . . .”
Loved Dudley more, even before Arthur. He and Peter Cook (plus Jonathan Miller and, for goodness sake, Alan Bennett!)were fabulous Beyond the Fringe, He was hilarious in 10. And an outstanding musician.
Missed indeed.
“I wish I had a nickel for every nickel I have.” Also a line from Arthur. Very cute movie. Alas, they all leave us and then, alas alack and welladay, we leave all of them.
