Q: What National Football League team is named after a famous 19th-century poem?

SUBTLE HINT:

Raven from humboldt.com

A: The Baltimore Ravens. The name comes from the poem The Raven, written by onetime Baltimore resident Edgar Allan Poe. The team, previously known as the Cleveland Browns, moved to Baltimore in 1996. Its mascots are three ravens — named (are you ready?) Edgar, Allan, and Poe.

IMHO, the Ravens now have the best “bird” of all:

    Steve McNair.

The Titans lost a great man when he left.

And if Art Modell had put the money into his team in Cleveland that he’s spent in Baltimore, he would have had a Superbowl Championship years and years ago. Yeah, I’m an unrepentant NE Ohioan! lol And I’ve never forgiven the Irsays for taking the Colts from Baltimore either — another nasty act in the name of money. Oh well — our Buckeyes are #1 and we got a Heisman winner to boot!
