Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely…
More power than any good man should want, and more power than any other kind of man ought to have. — Daniel O. Hastings
Hastings was US Senator from Delaware, 1928 - 1936. He was a Republican. He was also quite obviously clairvoyant in so accurately describing the other kind of man who now occupies the White House, holds his own country and the world hostage, and exhibits all the characteristics of megalomania.

What a wonderful quote. And it so perfectly applies to situation in which we find ourselves. And it angers me that the most our election results seem to get us is a non-binding resolution. Thats pretty much the same as no resolution at all. Congress continues without a spine.
@Em,
the recent Congress impotence merely serves to confirm that the USA does NOT have a democracy, but is now a dictatorship. With fascist tendencies
Good quote and I agree. The bad part is we may find both major parties are controlled, as is our media, by the same people (who may not even be Americans)! Often the world is run by shadowy governments and the power may go back to groups like East Indies Company who never go away but are less effective off and on. This is definitely an ‘on’ time for them. For the US, it’s going to take a third party and power doesn’t give itself up easily either. It will take a stronger will in our people than I am sure we have right now. Very upsetting times. What others fought for, this group today gives up to feel powerful themselves through some kind of osmosis, I guess, or out of fear that they will lose something if they stand up and are counted– which they might. (Another thing I have thought– not happily– is maybe nations also accrue karma and if so, ours could be getting exactly what it has earned.
The accruing karma is more on target then most would think. A wise man (Neale Walsch) once said, ” if we do not take responsibility for all of it, we can change none of it”. I am for responsibility being assumed by all. Disconnecting statements and or words like they, you, nation, as in “other” or “not apart of”, is a definite sign of getting what we deserve. Regardless were you are geographically, positioned on an issue, or passive participant, we are all participants and either add to or take away from the problem. I accept my role, passive or active, I don,t think I will like recieving what i have earned. I will work deligently trying to influence my and our karma in the positive.
