AT&T Rules!
Everybody who crossed paths with Winston Rand knew that one of his 4 rules of relationships was to play fair. That message finally got to AT&T.
The blue and white rolling ball has a heart after all. The Tennessee Regulatory Authority was able to wrangle them into dropping my contract termination fee of $400. Or maybe Ma Bell took a switch to ‘em. Either way, Roomie’s smiling and it feels like the world has some balance to it. Thank you, AT&T.
And I’m going to be a Poppy in absentia. My daughter-in-law is pregnant.

Congrats on all things fair and beautiful.
Congratulations on a successful resolution with the corporate powers.
And a super congratulations on the pregnancy. I know, even in absentia, your spirit will bless their family.
Good job breaking down the walls of that AT&T bureaucracy! And congratulations on the grand-daughter! If anybody is looking down on their family from on high, it’s you friend.
Congratulations on both counts
Glad to see common sense has prevailed finally with AT&T
Ah justice! It seems so rare these days. Congratulations Kathy on your perseverance and your victory. Can you feel Winston’s glowing face radiating down on you? I swear….I can.
Congrats on the new little one(s)who will be joining your clan…you’ll be a wonderful Poppy (in absentia).
LOL - congratulations! Why am I reminded of that scene in The Incredibles where Bob Incredible tells the little old lady how to navigate the insurance company bureaucracy?
And congratulations on the new addition too
It’s just nice to “hear” your voice. Because it brings back memories of someone I loved but never knew. He would be smiling and egging you on.
Thanks, guys! I feel blessed to have an uplifting community of thinkers and writers out there. And another thing…in all my time with Winston he told me many times that all he wanted out of this life was for people to say — after his death — that he was a pretty good guy. That was enough for him. Now, if you do a Google search on “Winston Rand” you see those words over and over again. All because of his blog friends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! How special you all are!
Roomie…um, Rand?
Yay! Go Winston! Now, back in the urn you go.
That is good news.
Are you resting in peace now, winston?!
Good wishes to daughter-in-law and grandma to be.
It’s November 5th 2008, Winston, and I just came here to say that I believe you would be a happy man today. America did it Winston, America elected Barack.
….. congrats to you, ma’am….. and I know that Winston would have so loved to have been a Grandpa!……… I miss him very, very much……… very much…….
….. I hope to meet you some day…..
